I allow people to grow, I allow for context, I allow for people to be in one space seven years ago and not in the same space now. One hundred percent. But, my thing is these people haven't grown. -Kenya Wilson, Why are Y’all so Mean to Blue Ivy, 2020
Kenya Wilson is a 20-something law student in Atlanta and the epitome of young Black excellence. Her YouTube channel, As Told by Kenya, is filled with poignant commentary on internet culture and pop culture. Along with confronting society’s negative bias towards Black beauty, Kenya speaks about the power of rebranding in the Blue Ivy episode. She applauds organic personal growth over time while critiquing performative switching to keep up with profitable trends or movements.

Have a Pleasant Day
