Artist Residency At Nemacolin Woodlands Resort: The Traveling Artist

As an artist-in-residence at a sprawling resort, I am often traveling to different locations to make art. Sometimes, I work outside on the porch. Friday nights, during happy hour, I am required to create artwork live in the lobby for guests. I have a table and chair set up in the lobby each Friday and mingle with guests as I draw. No, I do not create caricature portraits of the guests! Although, no shade if that’s your thing! I am able to fit a small framed art piece (sometimes up to three), art supplies, a pad of paper, business cards, and more in my canvas tote bag with sturdy leather straps. I have a backpack purse that can fit inside sometimes too. I carry my lightweight portable drawing table along with a plank of wood and a clamp to keep it in place. All of this is possible for me to manage on my own and now I love traveling as an artist!
