I picked up Better Homes and Gardens: Flower Arranging 1965 from the Lewisville Public Library book sale and there was a surprise inside. The ribbons, receipts, and snapshots from a 1968 hobbyist florist were tucked nicely in the cover. Carole Eaton was a member of the Highland Hills Garden Club and her supportive husband, David Eaton gifted her with an adorable retro card and possible a coupon for an icee. All of that history and love was excavated from a few bits left in a book.
The 60s photography of interiors and flowers really got my attention from inside the guide book. I bought it for inspiration for drawing.
