Molly Margaret Syndor is a Dallas based artist with a BFA in Fiber Art from Maryland Institute College of Art concentrating in experimental fashion and photography. As an LGBTQ woman of color with The Golden Drop, Molly’s work overtly and subliminally, captures and communicates these identities.
Molly has been in residency at the innovative Sunset Art Studios in Oak Cliff, TX for several weeks during 2019 culminating in an immersive installation. Millennial adulthood, and the transitions that lead up to it, were explored with a playfulness that was very comforting. The rooms displayed in the unstretched paintings felt like clipping photos from interior design magazines and imaging yourself inside them as you decorate your first apartment. Engaging activities included coloring books and letter writing. This installation was brimming with feminine nostalgia and I loved it!
