Justice and Juneteenth

On May 28th, Justice for Greenwood Foundation hosted an event at The Greenwood Cultural Center celebrating the progress of their landmark lawsuit seeking reparations for survivors of the Tulsa Race Massacre and updating us on milestones to come. The Foundation also organized oral history storytelling at the event where descendants could record our thoughts and feelings on the history of Greenwood and where we are now.

This event, and others around the city, marked the 101 year anniversary of the Massacre. It was an exciting lead-in to the Juneteenth holiday which is now recognized as a federal holiday since June 2021. I was happy to step out for the day and grab a plate at the food truck Waffle That! All photos by me.

Have a Pleasant Day!
