Updates: Apocalypse 2020

The majority of my art practice is escapism and that hasn’t changed during the civil unrest, presidential election, and COVID-19 plague. My activism has been in the form of self-advocacy since infancy and that too has not changed. In many ways, my life is exactly the same and so are many others around the country. If you struggle with chronic illness, low wages, or daily bigotry, the current events are nothing new. But, the momentum and energy of our time is unstoppable, so now is our time to be heard.

Learn more about my ongoing activism regarding racism in higher education and the arts at PF Heritage>Protests. I have two full conversations recorded where I speak out on racism at my alma mater. Visit the virtual gallery Table for One and hear me read a letter from nearly a decade past to the Metropolitan Museum of Art about diversity in the arts.
